Seeking Sophie Challenge: 2020 Distance Edition

I mentioned in a previous post that I would create a version of the Seeking Sophie Challenge that allows participation by using digital (online mapping) tools, instead of requiring visits to sites, in order to comply with the current COVID-19 restrictions.

Over the intervening month I've made other improvements, such as refining content, including provision of higher resolution materials; simplifying and setting out 'Tasks' more clearly, and providing additional challenges; enhancing 'clues' - and providing a 'Hints' section; and providing hyperlinks in order to move between materials more easily.

To replace the previous files on the former Seeking Sophie: Case File page (now closed), I've also gathered together all of the necessary materials within a pack, to download as a single document file (compressed PDF), the size of which should be approx. 8 MB:

Seeking Sophie Challenge: Distance Edition 2020 Digital Pack

(Edit: There were apparently difficulties with accessing this file. I hope that these problems have now been remedied. If the above link is still causing problems, try this instead).

Please save paper by only printing out the pages necessary to complete the tasks.

Those capable of editing PDF files (e.g. using Adobe Acrobat Pro) may be able to enter information directly into the document where require, using the 'Fill & Sign' feature (for security reasons, editing the file itself not permitted).

Most of the tasks within this challenge are not easy - and as previously, it is designed to keep participants occupied for some time! So I hope that some will find entertainment in this History Mystery during the lock-down

The answers are available once all the tasks are completed, a final task revealing a code to the digital vault, where successful Time 'Tec's will soon be able to download a certificate of completion, acknowledging their achievement - and find instructions on how to enter on to the roll of winners.

Good Luck!
